I live in my Division and I am very much a Lowestoft man, spending much of my working life as a mechanic, MOT tester, and long-distance truck driver.
Being interested in promoting the concerns and interests of local people, I successfully stood for election to the Suffolk County Council in May 2017. I have since been appointed to the Education Transport Appeals Committee; the Development and Regulation Committee; the Scrutiny Committee; the Health Scrutiny Committee; the Great Yarmouth and Waveney Joint Health Scrutiny Committee; and the Councillor Development Working Group. I am also an observer on the North Eastern Citizens Advice Bureau (NECAB).
In September 2017, I was elected as the District Councillor for Oulton Broad, which is part of my Suffolk County Council division. At East Suffolk Council, I am currently Vice Chairman of the Council, Chairman of the Licensing Committee and I sit on the Scrutiny Committee.
In Oulton, we have the same problems as most areas with traffic, parking, speeding etc. I am particularly interested in primary healthcare in the area.
I am determined to do all that I can to improve the prospects of the Lowestoft and Waveney areas for ourselves and future generations.
