I was born and bred in Stowmarket. I am a married father of five children. One is at university and the other four all attend school in Stowmarket. My wife, Jessica, is a primary school teacher.
I became a District Councillor and Town Councillor in 2007, and I was elected to the County Council in 2008. I am proud and honoured to have been able to serve my constituents during this period.
I became a Councillor so I would be able to help people. I want to be a voice for people - fighting for their views and opinions at all levels of local government.
At the County Council, I currently serve as the Council’s representative on the Adoption and Fostering Permanence Panel. This allows me the privilege to potentially place children with new parents or carers.
For me as a Councillor, the most important thing is to represent the views of all my constituents - even if they did not vote for me. I have been elected to do just that and I will continue to do so. One of my main priorities is to ensure that our area gets the right infrastructure to support all the building that is coming our way.
