Andrew Reid was brought up in East Suffolk and has lived full time in the county with his wife Clare and three children since 1990. His background is in financial services and risk management and he now owns a local business supplying and fitting woodburning stoves. Andrew has been a county councillor since 2011 and has been chairman of the Suffolk County Pension Fund, Deputy Cabinet Member for Finance and Deputy Cabinet Member for Public Protection. He is currently Cabinet Member for Highways, Transport and Rural Affairs. Andrew has been a keen funder and supporter of community-led initiatives, especially road safety, environmental projects and encouraging local activities for young people.

One of Andrew’s key priorities for the Wilford division is to work with the Government and EDF for the best solutions for highways and transport for any construction of Sizewell C and with other energy providers on better onshore transmission methods. He is also keen to work with all the parishes in the division to improve the condition of the roads as much as possible.
