Beccy has lived in Suffolk all her life, growing up in the rural village of Stanningfield before moving to Bury St Edmunds in 1995. Coming from a family that has farmed in Suffolk for generations, she has a deep-rooted understanding of rural life and the issues facing local communities.
She is married to Paul and together they have two sons, both educated in Bury St Edmunds. Alongside her public service, Beccy co-owns and runs a personal wellness business with her husband, supporting individuals to improve their health and nutrition. This has given her valuable insight into the challenges and pressures faced by small businesses.
Beccy has proudly served as County Councillor for Thingoe North since 2005 and has been a member of the Cabinet since 2013. She currently holds the position of Cabinet Member for Adult Care, where she is committed to ensuring vulnerable residents receive high-quality support and services. In 2015, she was elected to St Edmundsbury Borough Council, now West Suffolk District Council, representing the Fornhams and Great Barton ward.
Her strong interest in health and care has also led to her roles as a governor for West Suffolk Hospital Foundation Trust and ESNEFT, where she represents Suffolk County Council as a partner governor. At a national level, Beccy contributes as a member of the Local Government Association’s Health and Wellbeing Board and acts as a peer, supporting other councils and councillors.
Beccy is passionate about being visible and accessible to residents, listening to their concerns, and providing a strong voice on their behalf. She is dedicated to helping communities thrive and supporting residents in achieving their ambitions for their local areas.
Outside of her council responsibilities, Beccy enjoys running through Suffolk’s beautiful countryside and spending time with her family exploring the county’s rich history and many attractions
